A client within the Public Sector based in County is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Adviser (Commercial & Schools) to join their Risk and Audit team as soon as possible.Ā The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a health and safety environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to assist the Health & Safety Senior Officer in providing advice and support on Health and Safety matters, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:• Conducting audits and reviews to ensure compliance with occupational H&S legislation• Providing advice and support to schools in line with SLA agreements• Undertaking site inspections across Council buildings and educational settings• Supporting RIDDOR investigations and incident analysis• Monitoring H&S reporting systems and contributing to committee reports• Assisting with the development of policies, training plans, and improvement strategies• Liaising with Enforcement Authorities and Insurance Team on H&S casesThe CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (e.g. SCQF Level 10 / RQF Level 6)• Certified Membership of IOSHThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:• Strong working knowledge of asbestos, legionella, gas safety, electrical, fire compliance• Experience working in or with local authorities and/or schools• Excellent communication skills, able to write clear reports and present findingsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering up to  £27 per hour Umbrella Ltd Inside IR35. (approx.
