About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16-19 with special educational needs. This full-time role begins in November 2025 and offers a rewarding opportunity to help young people develop independence, life skills, and academic progress in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assist in delivering vocational and life skills programmes alongside academic content.
- Support students in developing communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement individual learning plans.
- Promote independence and confidence in preparation for adulthood.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people with SEN, ideally in a post-16 or secondary setting.
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training.
- A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.
