My client a Tier 1 Construction and Civil Engineering contractor with multiple offices nationwide are seeking to employ on a permanent basis a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator within their south coast office. Working on a wide range of schemes including new-build, refurbishment & extension build projects for both private and public sector clients, projects ranging from £100K - £250M.

They are seeking to employ on a permanent basis a HSE Coordinator with a understanding of construction.

Ideally, you will be based around the Dorset region, with multiple projects along the South Coast. Covering up to 6 sites at once.

Key Accountability's:

  • Keep up to date with the latest HSE requirements including legislation and best practice.
  • Provide support to the management teams and setting the highest HSE standards by personal example.
  • Ensure Site Management is aware of and provided with up-to-date HSE documentation with advise and proposals. Meeting the changing needs of the company and continual improvement.
  • Represent the company to clients and other external parties.
  • Assist in the facilitation of external audits to external certification organisations and other external bodies.
  • Assist with the preparation of risk assessments and method statements where appropriate for the project teams.
  • Conduct HSE Audits and Inspections on sites.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents preparing detailed reports with recommendations as directed by the Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.

  • Be clear on your responsibilities and strive to deliver what is expected.
  • Actively contribute to improving the business.
  • Understand your personal responsibilities to maintaining the business's HSQE standards.
  • Exploit opportunities to learn.

About You:

  • Previous experience within the civils/ construction sector.
  • Relevant qualifications including NEBOSH general certificate, or equivalent CEnv
  • Effective communication skills including strong presentation and report writing skills
  • Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone
  • High quality standards
