Business Development Manager

We are working with a large, industry leading organisation on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Reading. This is an incredible opportunity to join a great company where you can really make an impact.

This is a crucial and exciting role within the sales team, focused on seeking out new business opportunities through effective negotiation skills and the successful management of existing customer relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of new business initiatives from inception to completion and beyond, necessitating a great deal of tenacity and drive for resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide exceptional, pro-active account management to new and existing clients
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets within management services
  • Identifying, targeting and converting new business opportunities
  • Proactively generate customer meetings
  • Build strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business
  • Produce and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients
  • Produce calendar of confirmed future meetings with targeted accounts
  • Core understanding of services to be able to present a total operation package
  • Direct interface with clients to assist with the resolution of customer concerns
  • Ensure smooth implementation of new business up to delivery of services
  • Attend customer site awareness days to promote the company and offer advise
  • Present detailed presentations to new and existing accounts on services
  • Fully aware of and promote health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required

Key Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of business services and commercial opportunities
  • Strong financial/?commercial acumen
  • Be able to operate in a compliant manner in a challenging environment
  • Strong business development and sales experience. Driven and enthusiastic with ability to understand needs
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Self-motivated as well as a good motivator
  • Be proactive and constructive in problem solving
  • Be approachable and professional
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literate
  • Must possess excellent organisational skills, meeting deadlines, plan and prioritise workloads
  • Demonstrate understanding and works to exceed customer expectations
  • Fully compliant with laws and regulations
