Bradford (Hybrid Working)

Financial Accountant required to join a public sector organisation based in Bradford on a full-time temporary basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Financial Accountant to join their dynamic and fast-moving finance function.

As the Financial Accountant, you will support the Senior Finance Manager in ensuring that all financial processes are completed accurately and delivered to deadlines, alongside the duties below;

Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

  • Manage both the receivables and payables function in the development and maintenance of effective financial management and control systems to ensure the accurate reporting of the organisation's financial position.
  • Manage the control accounts to ensure all balances are reconciled on a timely, accurate and complete basis.
  • Provide financial performance reports for the Corporate Trustee and Monitor.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate system for producing and monitoring the monthly and annual cashflow forecast.
  • Ensure that financial information is produced in accordance with relevant financial professional standards
  • Ensure effective operation of the budgetary control system in order to maximise the use of the organisations resources.
  • Represent the organisation on appropriate working groups and to work with colleagues in other areas.
  • Provide both financial and budgetary information to fundholders and support the fundholders in the development expenditure plans and strategies.

Required skills and experience of the Technical Accountant

  • Previous experience within a charity setting (essential)
  • Ideally Part Qualified/Qualified ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous experience managing a finance team (essential)
  • Extensive knowledge of statutory financial reporting
  • Strong IT skills
  • Strong team working abilities
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level of organisational skills
  • High level of analytical skills
