The salary is £46,549 - £49,590 37 hours a week

Role Overview

The Registered Manager plays a crucial role in managing the home and staff team, providing inspirational care tailored to the individual needs of children and young people. You’ll handle staff management issues promptly, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Your responsibility extends to creating a safe and stimulating environment that supports assessment, care, education, and health while nurturing emotional and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities

•              Foster positive relationships, encouraging strong bonds between children and staff.

•              Collaborate with professionals, families, and communities of origin.

•              Lead recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, training, development, and support processes.

•              Deputize for the Service Delivery Manager as needed.

•              Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their views and feelings are considered.

•              Nurture children’s ambitions for their future, both in and out of school.

•              Develop effective working and information-sharing protocols.

•              Understand and lead local multi-agency assessment approaches.

•              Stay informed about local and national developments related to looked-after children and young people.

•              Create a stable and secure base for young people to address past experiences and present difficulties.

•              Ensure compliance with safe handling and administering of medication requirements.

•              Implement and manage individual and environmental risk assessments.

•              Handle complex and challenging behaviour assertively and sensitively.

•              Proactively work to prevent criminalization of children and young people.

•              Manage matching and admissions to the home.

•              Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual care plans.

•              Adapt to change and participate in training and development activities.

Requirements

•              At least 2 years of recent experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.

•              Minimum 1 year of experience in a role involving supervision and management of staff in a care setting.
