We require an enthusiastic, motivated Technician to carry out Electrical maintenance on trains, to ensure relevant maintenance, repairs and installations are completed to the required standards.  

The Situation


You will be working for a Government ran organisation who provide state of the art rail solutions. You will be required to complete Electrical maintenance, repairs and installation to trains; as well as mechanical duties as and when required. This will suit an individual who enjoys a hands on, varied role.

This is a hands-on position and may involve completing both Electrical and Mechanical repairs and maintenance to fleets of rolling stock.

This role is a permanent role, working days, nights and weekends.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience of completing electrical upgrades and repairs to vehicles; including, trains, buses, HGV, marine or aerospace
  • Excellent understanding of electrical schematics
  • Willing to get involved with mechanical duties on occasion

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3/equivalent minimum qualification in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience completing repairs and maintenance to vehicles.
  • Must have excellent fault finding skills and be able read schematic diagrams. 

Desirable

  • Previous rail experience
