Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship

Our client, a specialist financial services provider, are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Department. This role is crucial in ensuring customer payments are applied to accounts efficiently and accurately. With a family feel and a friendly working atmosphere, we are a regulated company that values integrity, skill, and fairness in all our dealings.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Execute high-volume processing of customer transactions for mortgages and loans.
  • Perform various analyses and reconciliations, including bank and nominal reconciliations.
  • Process approximately 100 Purchase Ledger invoices per month, along with a small number of Sales Ledger invoices.
  • Reconcile supplier positions and manage invoice processing and payment.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure quality and timeliness in service delivery.
  • Adhere to internal and external regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements, including FCA’s Conduct Rules.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A good team player with flexibility to assist colleagues beyond prescribed tasks.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with a high level of energy and drive.
  • Commitment to service delivery to both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Accounts experience is an advantage, but training will be provided as needed.
  • Good accuracy, numeracy, and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer and keyboard skills, with knowledge of Excel being an advantage.
  • Working towards AAT or a recognised accounting qualification is preferred but can be qualified by experience.
