Kinetic Recruitment Solutions are pleased to announce we have been selected to search for a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor on-behalf of family run main contractor based in Brentwood, Essex.

My client has been established since 1979 and has a broad range of construction knowledge and experience delivering projects from inception through to completion across the industrial, Commercial, New Build residential and refurb, Education and Grade two restorations. They have an excellent reputation with many of their clients which have worked with for over 30 years which include high-end property management companies in Mayfair.

They currently have a very strong order book for 2024 and have turnover over of £25m, 2025 IS looking very promising as they have recently tendered for several new projects ranging between £8M - £22M which they are confident of securing as they are already working with this client and currently delivering several projects for them, (if they do secure these projects, they could be looking for two Quantity Surveyors to join the team).

Due to the increase of workload and strategic plans to expand the business they have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The Commercial team is currently three strong at the moment which consists of long-standing Commercial Director, Senior Quantity Surveyor and an Estimator. I have recently recruited a Senior Quantity Surveyor which joined the team in December which has a strong main contracting and residential development background.

They deliver a wide range of projects across London and the surrounding counties ranging from £4M - £20M. The projects you will be working on will be varied across different sectors such as - £20M industrial units in Watford or an office conversation into 22 luxury apartments in West London or a new build £6M residential development in London.

The Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor will be predominantly based out of the Brentwood offices with site visits when required, some travelling may be required.

Please note: This is a hands-on role where you will have full autonomy over your own projects where you will be responsible for managing your own projects.

Responsibilities:

Client meetings
Contract management (JCT Design & Build)
Pricing the project, taking the project through the tender process
Procurement of all trade packages
Value engineering
Reporting CVR's on each project.
Sub contract management across all trade packages
Final accounts

You will be the companies representative and will be chairing meetings with existing and new clients. You will be working closely with the Managing Director which has a hands-on role within the business as well as reporting CVR's directly into the Commercial Director.

The person:

Must have a degree in quantity surveying or a construction related qualification.
Must have experience in managing your own projects taking the project from inception through to completion.
Ideally have experience of delivering new build projects in the residential, commercial, industrial sectors however all construction experience will be considered apart from Rail and large civil infrastructure.
Ideally be living close to Brentwood, Essex as this is where you will be based the majority of the time.
Must be able to manage your own time and be proactive.
Forward thinking and must be able take responsibility for making important decisions which will effect the outcome of the project.

The salary on offer:

Up to £80,000 basic salary (depending on experience ), travel allowance, 25 days holiday and pension plus a bonus which is paid at Christmas of £5,000 which could increase depending on performance.

Please note: The Managing Director is happy to consider Senior QS as well if you are looking for the next step in your career,, the above salary would increase considerably depending on experience.
