Our client is a Leading Construction firm, they are seeking an experienced Lead Internal Auditor.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Midlands area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

The role of the Lead Internal Auditor, reporting to the Audit Manager, is to engage with the business to deliver the work of the Internal Audit department in a professional manner. The Lead Internal Auditor will also act as a colleague and mentor with other members of the department.

  • Schedule, prepare, execute and lead audits, including participating and leading meetings, reviewing colleagues' testing and draft findings as well writing up your own testing
  • Support colleagues to identify potential findings and agree their factual accuracy and potential impact with auditees
  • Support colleagues to formulate and agree action plans, including their importance and timeframes, with auditees
  • Manage the formulation and completion of audit reports
  • Follow up on the implementation of agreed actions
  • Facilitate business unit risk reviews

About You:

  • The candidate will be working in Internal Audit or for a firm of accountants
  • The candidate will have experience of leading audits with multiple auditors and be qualified in a relevant qualification i.e. CIA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • The candidate will be able to produce high quality work and will work well leading and being part of a team both remotely and in-person
  • The role will involve communication at all levels of the Group so well-developed interpersonal skills are required including being able to deliver difficult messages and to agree action plans
  • Effective time management and planning
  • The candidate will be very analytical and have an inquisitive nature
