Sales Account Manager - Logistics and Freight Forwarding

Salary £30K to £35K Base plus £7K Car allowance plus commission

Job Role:

As a Sales and Account Manager you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of the company by identifying new business opportunities whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of customers with aim to improve customer spend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own portfolio of existing customers, identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products/services.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with new and existing customers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers.
  • Generate new leads and opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and online research.
  • Meet sales targets for profitable volume and strategic objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Achieve customer objectives defined by company management.
  • Work towards to achieving individual sales targets and KPIs and contribute to business goals.
  • Negotiate and successfully close sales opportunities to meet and exceed agreed sales targets within the target markets agreed by management.
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel both internally and externally.
  • Prepare regular reports for management to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Maintain and develop the computerised CRM system.
  • Respond and follow up any business enquiries via telephone, email, and personal visits when deemed necessary.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Detail driven and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated and tenacious.
  • Excellent team-worker with drive and enthusiasm.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in customer facing role.
  • Familiarity with CRM software *desirable.
  • Account Management experience *desirable.
  • Sales experience *desirable.
  • Willingness to drive nationwide.
  • Full UK driving licence.
