About the business
We are recruiting for an international professional services business with a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. They are looking for a Group Accountantto join their team and play a key role in their continued success.
Working Pattern
This is a hybrid working pattern based in Brierley Hill with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.
Main duties (needs to be in bullet points):
- Prepare comprehensive financial packages for each subsidiary, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, meeting tight reporting deadlines.
- Take full accountability for the accuracy of all financial data within your subsidiary portfolio.
- Scrutinise the work of accountants, management accountants, and transaction teams, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Craft insightful variance reports with commentary, capital expenditure reports, and bad debt reviews, providing valuable business intelligence.
- Collaborate with the asset management team to gain a deep understanding of how the portfolio is performing.
- Assist the group financial accountant with finalising monthly management reports for review by both UK and Group Finance Directors.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable ledgers closely, ensuring their efficient and effective management.
- Complete VAT returns accurately and on time, adhering to all tax regulations.
- Create insightful cash flow forecasts to support strategic financial planning.
- Work closely with asset managers to guarantee consistent compliance with all banking consent requirements.
- Prepare year-end financial statements for each subsidiary, adhering to FRS 102 standards.
- Lead the creation of year-end audit packs and confidently communicate with external auditors throughout the process.
- Prepare detailed tax packs and maintain open communication with tax advisors. Review annual tax calculations and ensure accounts are prepared for submission to HMRC.
- Work collaboratively with tax advisors to ensure timely and effective responses to any HMRC enquiries.
- Assist in the management of the treasury function, including foreign accounts.
- Provide valuable assistance to the Financial Planning & Analysis team as required.
- Be prepared to tackle ad hoc analysis projects as needed, demonstrating your adaptability and problem-solving skills.

What We Are Looking For (Needs to be in bullet points)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge specifically aligned with UK accounting standards.
- Prior experience with group accounting, consolidation, multi-currency reporting is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficient in using accounting software and financial systems.
