Tony Alan Recruitment currently has an exciting job opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-known organisation in the Falmer, Brighton area on a permanent basis.

This role is to work with finance to oversee the operating and maintaining of the Financial Planning and Management Information Tool (IBM Analytics) and the Finance system for projects and revenue investment.

Your duties will include:

  • Business partner with other areas of finance
  • Prepare reports and financial analysis
  • Agree clear priorities for the financial analysis and reporting of projects
  • Oversee the IBM Planning Analytics tool, maintaining the data set for Central Projects including forecasting, budgeting, reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensure the preparation and effective flow of quality assured management information, standardised and ad hoc, to and from key stakeholders, and includes relevant financial analysis
  • Maintain the data and project registers
  • Contribute to the development of management information systems data and reporting for key stakeholders
  • Process, monitor and reconcile transactions, maintain budgets and update forecasts to ensure accurate records are maintained for budget monitoring and forecasting, including providing ad hoc and standard reports for key stakeholders and Project Boards to aid and influence decision making
  • Prepare information for monthly and annual closing of accounts whilst being aware and giving guidance on best practice to colleagues
  • Work collaboratively to maximise the capabilities of the finance systems and FP&A with a view to streamline processes and eliminate duplication of work
  • Providing data and analysis for external returns and governing bodies
  • Process development with a view to streamlining and eradicate duplication of work

Key requirements:

  • Ideally you will be part qualified or actively studying towards a finance qualification
  • Strong excel skills are essential
  • Good Financial and accounting analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information to both Finance and Non-Finance users
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and conceptual ideas in a way that can be understood by most employees, and with attention to detail
  • Experience of IBM Planning Analytics or similar Financial Analytics systems/tools
