Supported Housing Support Worker- Young People

1to1 Group are working with a large charity to provide supported housing support workers in one of their services to help support young people to live independently and help coach them for the next stage in their lives.

You will work closely with residents to assess their needs, develop personalized support plans, and empower them to achieve their aspirations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with young people on 1-1 basis to coach them to achieve goals
  • Help to develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, accessing education etc.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for young people.
  • Supporting young people to develop confidence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Documenting progress, setbacks, and outcomes of support provided.
  • Liaising with social services, healthcare providers, education, and other relevant organisations.
  • Facilitating individual or group sessions to address emotional and social issues.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young people and making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Previous experience in a similar support role, ideally working with vulnerable young individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of issues facing young people, including homelessness and mental health.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
