Financial Controller - Leading Private Healthcare Provider | Bristol | £65,000 - £75,000, 25 days holiday, plus package | Healthcare

We're hiring a Financial Controller to lead the finance function at a growing, purpose-driven healthcare organisation that puts patients, and people, at the heart of everything it does. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where you'll play a key part in driving both operational and strategic financial performance at site level.

Working closely with the General Manager and the wider UK&I Finance leadership team, you'll be responsible for everything from financial control and reporting to budgeting, forecasting, and delivering insight that shapes smarter business decisions.

The Role

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting
  • Deliver robust management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle in partnership with local and group leadership
  • Provide financial modelling and decision support for strategic initiatives and investment cases
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost efficiency across the site
  • Ensure strong compliance with financial policies, controls, and audit standards
  • Act as a business partner to operational leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights
  • Manage and develop a small team of finance professionals, fostering capability and growth
  • Serve as the finance lead for the site, working closely with both local and UK&I leadership

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience including both financial control and FP&A
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen
  • Excellent Excel and financial systems proficiency
  • Able to lead, challenge, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proactive and hands-on with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical, or multi-site environments is advantageous
