Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Design Manager for our esteemed client based in Bristol. The role involves overseeing the design process for 2-3 live projects, supporting site teams, and ensuring that all design deliverables meet project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design team on live projects, ensuring efficient design delivery.
• Support site teams in managing the design process.
• Create and monitor Design Information Required Schedules (IRS).
• Develop and communicate the Design Responsibility Matrix (DRM).
• Review design information on the A-Site document control platform.
• Resolve technical queries with the design team.
• Ensure compliance with contractor proposals and employer requirements.
• Identify and implement value engineering options.
• Participate in pre-construction tenders to assess design solutions and risks.
• Chair design team meetings and produce minutes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager in construction.
• Strong understanding of design processes.
• Proficiency with design/document control software, including A-Site.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience in value engineering.
