Position Overview: As the School Business Manager, you will serve as a key member of our leadership team, overseeing the financial, administrative, and operational functions of the school. This multifaceted role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, HR, and facilities management.

  • Financial Management: Manage the school budget, including forecasting, monitoring expenditure, and financial reporting. Implement robust financial controls and procedures to optimise resources and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • HR and Personnel Management: Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of staff. Oversee HR processes, including payroll, contracts, performance management, and staff training.
  • Facilities and Operations: Coordinate the maintenance and development of the school premises and grounds. Manage health and safety procedures, compliance with statutory regulations, and procurement processes.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the school's vision and objectives. Provide strategic advice and guidance on resource allocation and operational improvements.
  • Policy Development and Compliance: Keep abreast of changes in legislation, policies, and regulations affecting education and school management. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in HR management, including recruitment, performance management, and staff development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of driving operational efficiency and delivering results.
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, business administration, or education management.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service).
