Senior Civil Engineer

Bennett and Game are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a client based in Bristol. Our client is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer due to an increase in work load and ambitions to develop the office further. The Senior Civil Engineer will be joining an office that has their employees at the forefront of their business's success and this is appreciated through company events throughout the year.

As the Senior Civil Engineer, you will be required to be client facing delivering a range of projects (residential, education, community and health, heritage, university and colleges) and procurement methods; traditional, design and construct contracts. As well as, resource allocation and management to complete jobs to agreed deadlines. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have experience Managing and mentoring of staff.

• Manage, design, develop, create, and maintain construction projects of various scales, ensuring safety, timeliness, and sustainability.
• Assess the feasibility and impact of site due diligence, preliminary layouts, and final engineering designs.
• Study and evaluate construction-related documents such as drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Determine project budgets, schedules, and scope of work, and allocate resources accordingly.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget constraints.
• Provide direction, leadership, and support to engineering and skilled personnel for effective project execution.
• Lead and oversee onsite construction teams.
• Collaborate with construction teams, architects, and external consultants for project coordination.

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant field.
• Proficient in computer software packages such as CAD, PDS or Civil3D, and Microdrainage/FLOW.
• Experience in Flood Risk Assessment (FRA).
• Competent in S278/S38 highway design.
• Proficiency in private and adoptable drainage design.
• Experience with earthworks and external level designs, including 3D analysis.
• Knowledgeable about planning, specification, design, procurement, and commissioning processes.
• Familiar with current legislation and able to work in compliance with QA and H&S procedures.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring Engineers within a discipline group.
• Capable of making decisions at an experienced level and prioritizing and managing conflicting internal and external demands.
