Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals to young people and staff daily, ensuring that their dietary preferences are accommodated. Special dietary meals should be prepared when necessary, with a variety of menu options available.

  • Supervision and Cleaning: Oversee and assist with routine cleaning tasks in food production areas, equipment, and utensils. Maintain a clean and hygienic environment at all times.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Monitor daily temperature recordings and maintain accurate documentation as required by policies and procedures.

  • Supply Management: Liaise with contractors and suppliers to order supplies, monitor stock levels, and ensure proper rotation of inventory. Maintain meticulous records of inventory and expenditures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including some half days
