Systems Engineer

World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage and Bristol is currently looking to recruit a large number of Systems Engineer subcontractors on an initial 12 month contract. You can be based from either location depending on your preference. The role will be a mixture of working from home and onsite (circa 20% home and onsite 80%).

Hourly Rate: 70.00ph (Umbrella)

Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter).

Systems Engineer Job Description:

The successful candidate will have worked in the Defence or Aerospace industry and whilst not essential it would be great if you have worked in one of the following related areas: Missile/Weapon Systems, Combat Systems, Command & Control Systems.

Candidates with a background in using any of the following are sought after;

• DOORS
• UML
• SysML
• Matlab, Simulink or Rhapsody.
• Candidates who come from a more Systems V&V, Systems Requirements, Integration / Verification and Validation, or perhaps a Simulation and Modelling background would be great too.

Ideally you will have a BSc/MSc/MEng in Systems Engineering, Systems Design Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent, have the ability to visualize and analyse complex systems, have good analysis skills, have good verbal, presentation and written communication skills, have practical knowledge of basic systems engineering principles and processes, be able to work with engineering teams, including in-house and contractor personnel, be pro-active and be capable of working on their own initiative with a minimum of supervision, have good working experience in more than one phase of the engineering life cycle, with sufficient experience of the total life cycle to ensure a good understanding of adjacent phases and through-life engineering issues.

Tools Knowledge:

Any of the following systems design related tools would be great: DOORS, Matlab, Simulink, Excel, Rhapsody, Aristisan, SysML or UML.
