Our client is looking for an Associate Lawyer to join the team, requiring a diligent professional with expertise in the legal domain and a keen interest in financial regulations.

Description

  • Providing and overseeing the provision of legal advice to support delivery of bank-wide projects in line with internal deadlines. Acting as a source of professional legal expertise to stakeholders including Products, Risk, Marketing, Digital, Operations, Financial Support Services, Branches, Change and Rectifications.
  • Advising on new product development, legal and regulatory developments, digital adoption, terms and conditions, marketing, operational queries and all legal issues related to clients personal and business banking products as well as our range of third party offers available through the clients MyRewards.
  • Maintaining an awareness of internal projects and external legal developments and how these affect the business, tailoring your advice accordingly.
  • Contributing to reporting and escalation of legal or governance issues and inputting to recommended solutions as required.
  • Building and maintaining an internal network and stakeholder relationships.

Profile

A successful Associate Lawyer should have:

  • UK/Scotland qualification
  • The suitable candidate will have a minimum 5 years PQE, primarily in financial services products/regulatory legal knowledge .
  • Experience of working in-house.
  • Able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload effectively under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team oriented
