Transport Shift Manager - Bristol

Up to £35K + BENS

Mon-Fri DAYS (Saturdays on rota)

Strive are delighted to be supporting a well-established a fresh produce distributor as they are looking to strengthen their Transport Management team based in Bristol. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join their management team as a Transport Shift Manager. Our client delivers fresh produce and food to catering establishments throughout the South West..

Key Requirements:

  • Management of multiple objectives, and to work with the transport and sales teams to make decisions to exceed customer expectations, through daily and strategic routing.
  • Managing a team of drivers, improving driving standards and ensuring high customer service levels.
  • Meet the customer and business requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • The role will require the management of multiple objectives, and to work with the transport and sales teams to make decisions to exceed customer expectations, through daily and strategic routing.
  • Reporting to the Transport Manager, the distribution manager will be an integral part of the site management team, driving to continually improve service and commercial measures.

About you:

  • You will ideally have a background in multi-drop van operations or transport, and a good knowledge of the delivery area.
  • Organized and well planned, and have the ability to prioritise to meet customer requirements
  • Experience of motivating and managing a team would be essential.
  • You will have a flexible approach, and a determination to continually improve the operation.
  • The ability to use all elements of Microsoft is important - training will be provided on the use of our internal systems, but you must be familiar and comfortable with using computer packages.
  • Commercial awareness

The role will start at 5am to manage vehicle departures, finishing mid-afternoon. Saturdays will be worked on a rota basis.
