Mechanical Design Engineer required for permanent, full time role in Hengrove, Bristol – BS14

£34,000 - £39,000 per annum, depending on experience/qualifications.
37.5 hrs a week
25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays – increasing to 28 after 5 years’ service

About the role

Delivering projects to both internal and external stakeholders
Take ownership of projects from initial concept through to build, and support of commissioning and installation
Produce parts lists, detail drawings
Take responsibility for all the mechanical aspects of a project and provide technical guidance to
internal and external customers as necessary
Carry out risk assessments on machinery and assemblies of machinery
Make occasional visits to both UK and international destinations as necessitated by the customer project requirements

The right candidate

Minimum 2 years’ prior experience in a Design Engineering role, relatable to machinery
HNC or Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Integrated)
Experience in the design of electro-mechanical mechanisms and equipment
3D modelling skills - Solid Works, or Inventor
The ability to read and produce 2D production drawings applying GD&T as necessary
Experience of the interactions and interfaces with electrical engineering
At interview stage you will need to bring or supply a portfolio of your work that has been created or work on
