What you be doing as the Field Service Engineer

  • Maintaining and repairing plant machinery and equipment at client sites.
  • Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions and implementing practical solutions.
  • Collaborating with customers to understand their needs and provide technical guidance.
  • Training clients on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Documenting service activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements in technology.

What you need to apply for the Field Service Engineer job

  • A level 3 qualification in a mechanical discipline, such as motor mechanics, mechanical engineering, or plant engineering.
  • Full driver's license, ideally clean, maximum of 3 points.

The remuneration package

A salary of 30,000 - 35,000, depending on level of plant equipment experience, plus overtime. A comprehensive benefits package includes 22 days of holiday plus the bank holidays, increasing to 25 days with service, company pension, and private medical (after two years of service).

You also get a company van, mobile phone, fuel card, tablet and all necessary PPE.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 5 pm, typically meaning leaving the house at 7.30 am and being home by 5 pm. There is usually the opportunity to work 4-6 hours overtime on a Saturday, paid at time and a half.
