A leading London based public sector organisation is looking for Senior Buyer to join their team. the ideal candidate must be familiar with Public Sector Frameworks and be adaptable!You will play a vital role with our procurement team, ensuring the efficient and timely acquisition of goods and services.Your primary goal will be to help secure the best value, supporting the Procurement Managers and Head of Procurement in negotiations and obtaining quotations plus other buying activities.Job PurposeAs a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role within our procurement team, ensuring the efficient and timely acquisition of goods and services. Your primary goal will be to help secure the best value for the organisation, supporting the Procurement Managers and Head of Procurement in various procurement activities including negotiations and obtaining quotations. Your professional approach will ensure effective supplier selection, adherence to deadlines, and clear communication with all relevant parties.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Support: Assist Procurement Managers and the Head of Procurement in the execution of the procurement work plan to foster a cost improvement program.Data Analytics: Generate accurate, consistent, and insightful data analytics to support savings, efficiencies, and supplier commitment agreements.Product Evaluation: Aid the Procurement Manager in managing product evaluations and trials within the Trust.Documentation Coordination: Oversee documentation and requirements for consignment and new product applications, ensuring workflow adherence, including SINTT approval and accurate pricing agreements.Project Leadership: Lead a portfolio of procurement projects, managing assigned spend under the direction of senior management.Compliance Assurance: Support the Procurement Manager in ensuring compliance with EU legislation, UK law, Trust Standing Financial Instructions, and public sector procurement guidelines.Project Management: Independently manage self-identified and allocated projects, delivering value for money and supporting the Trust's cost improvement initiatives.Cost Reduction: Identify and implement savings and cost reductions, contributing to the Trust's Cost Improvement Programme.Professional Service Delivery: Collaborate with Procurement colleagues to ensure the delivery of a professional service to the Trust.Product Rationalisation: Promote product rationalisation and variety reduction, negotiating with suppliers for best buy opportunities and alternative products.Market Research: Conduct market research and benchmarking exercises to identify the best supply chain routes and collaborative purchasing opportunities.Contract Management: Lead specific contracts/projects, evaluating quotes and tenders, and assisting in contract performance monitoring and review.Process Improvement: Suggest and support improved working methods and departmental procedures in line with Best Practice.Competitive Quotations: Collate customer specifications to invite competitive quotations for products, equipment, and services.Training Participation: Attend and participate in required training sessions.Qualifications and SkillsRelevant qualifications in procurement or supply chain management.Proven experience in a procurement role, ideally within the public sector.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Ability to produce and interpret data analytics.Understanding of EU and UK procurement legislation.Project management experience with a track record of delivering cost savings.Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.If this sounds like YOU do not hesitate and click APPLY today!!!Randstad Business Support acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
