Job Overview:

Bromley Council is seeking a highly organised and proactive Safeguarding Business Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support to the Children's Safeguarding & Care Planning and Court Service teams. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and proven administrative and minute-taking experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive admin support to safeguarding and care planning teams.

  • Take accurate minutes during safeguarding meetings and type them up efficiently.

  • Liaise with social work teams and external professionals via phone and email.

  • Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy at all times.

  • Prioritise workload effectively to meet tight deadlines.

  • Work closely with the Senior and Supervising Business Support Officers.

Requirements:
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute (candidates must complete a free 1-minute typing test at typingtest.com using Medium Text and submit a screenshot with their application).

  • Proven administrative experience in a similar setting, ideally within children's services or local authority.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident dealing with high volumes of phone calls in a professional manner.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Strong prioritisation, organisational, and attention to detail skills.

Working Pattern:
  • Full-time office presence during training.

  • Hybrid model thereafter (2 days in-office, 3 days remote).
