Job Title: Learning Support AssistantLocation: BromleyAre you a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity in Bromley? Horizon Teachers are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join a great team and support a child with complex needs, including autism, learning delay, non-verbal communication, and hearing difficulties.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored one-to-one support to the child, implementing personalized learning strategies and activities.
  • Assist with communication using alternative methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the child's sensory needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.
  • Monitor progress, provide regular feedback, and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of alternative communication methods and strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields are desirable.
