Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to thrive academically and socially.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Offer individualised assistance to students, tailoring support to their diverse learning requirements.
  • Assist students during lectures, workshops, and practical sessions to facilitate their understanding and engagement.
  • Ensure students have access to course materials and resources in an accessible format.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to manage student behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Implement strategies to address challenging behaviours effectively and supportively.
  • Support inclusive learning by encouraging active participation in group settings and fostering peer interactions.
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Team to implement reasonable adjustments and provide alternative assessment formats.
  • Monitor student progress, report concerns, and celebrate student achievements with the relevant staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students’ learning journeys.
  • Experience in a similar role or a strong desire to work within an educational support setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Knowledge of inclusive practices and strategies to support students with additional learning needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.
