Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Care Assistants to work with a Local Authority at a residential home based in Bromsgrove. The home are looking for candidates to wok on an ad hoc, temporary basis, covering the following shift patterns as required:

08:00 – 15:00
15:00 – 22:00

Occasional night cover (22:00 – 08:00) may be required.

The roles sit within a residential home supporting adults with diagnoses including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health conditions. The incoming Care Assistants will be responsible for providing person-centred care, promoting independence and ensuring high standards of care at all times.

Main Duties

  • Provide high-quality personal, emotional, psychological, and practical support to residents in line with their individual needs and care plans
  • Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care
  • Liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to support residents' wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records and ensure compliance with CQC standards and regulations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service and staff development

Essential Criteria

  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a residential or social care setting
  • Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the physical and emotional needs of people with both learning and physical disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of care standards, CQC regulations, adult safeguarding procedures, the Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of person-centred practice and a commitment to upholding choice, dignity, and respect
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including weekends
