We’re looking for a Contracts Manager (M&E) to help us manage the essential mechanical and electrical services that keep our buildings safe, compliant, and running smoothly.
Based in Burnley, you’ll play a key role in making sure our properties meet the needs of the people who use them every day. Working closely with teams across the Group and external contractors, you’ll oversee planned maintenance, compliance, and service standards, always with a focus on value for money and the safety of our staff and customers.

The Opportunity
The role will support the Facilities Manager to procure external services in line with the Calico Group procurement strategy and managing external M&E contracts for facilities management services to meet the needs of the Calico Group.
As a Contracts Manager (M&E) you will managing planned and preventative maintenance to adhere to KPI’s and regulatory and legislative compliance. Ensuring there is no health and safety risk, damage to buildings, people, or delivery of services.
Assist in evaluating, creating, project lead and approving appropriate remedial works and solutions, whilst evaluating costs against budgets and forecasting to ensure value for money.
Conducting supplier and contractor review meetings, with a key focus on achieving a high level of service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Assist engaging with service leads and stakeholders to work pro-actively to procure and source contracts to meet their requirements. Providing technical advice and recommendations in relation to mechanical and electrical services.
What We’re Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of building management and compliance including water hygiene, HVAC, fire alarms, electrical, gas, COSHH and LOLER.
- Experience of contract management and negotiating costs.
- Experience and understanding of regulatory and legal requirements in relation to mechanical and electrical health and safety, CDM and Environmental issues in a Buildings/Office environment.
- Knowledge of procurement frameworks and procuring goods and services.
- Health and Safety legislation in relation to buildings and environmental standards.
- Knowledge of BS5839 parts 1 and 6, BS5266 part 1, and L8 code of practice.
- Knowledge of producing service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Experience of monitoring budget expenditure.
