Business Development Manager (Utilities)


Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time


Location: Burntwood


Hours: 40 hours per week (7.30 am - 4 pm or 8 am - 4.30 pm)


Salary: 40,000 - 55,000 per annum, depending on experience + bonus.


Benefits: Car/Car Allowance, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays, Health Cash Plan, Gym and Retail Discounts.Hybrid working may be considered.


Note - the basic salary would be up to 50,000 then a car or car allowance up to 5,000 per annum.


Our client operating within the utilities sector continues to grow at a rapid rate which has created a new requirement for a Business Development Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a company that prides itself on its growth strategy and excellent performance. This position is key for pre-contract processes and building relationships with new and existing clients. The right person will have worked in the utilities industry previously and has established relationships with clients already.


The Role:
  • Deliver exceptional service and exceed customer expectations.
  • Build robust, long-lasting relationships with customers.
  • Organize and manage external face-to-face meetings.
  • Acquire new customers and oversee their onboarding process.
  • Generate new leads.
  • Foster strong collaboration between pre-contract and post-contract teams.
  • Monitor and manage customer performance metrics.


Skills Required:
  • Previous experience working within Business Development, preferably for a utilities company where there are already well-established relationships.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Have great relationships with customers and effective networking skills.
  • Able to commute to the office in Burntwood on a daily basis and travel to customer sites across the Midlands.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
