Class 2 Driver

People Solutions are recruiting for a Class 2 Drivers on behalf of a well-known and respected nationwide brand.

This role is temporary but with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.

You must be aged 25 or older for this role due to Insurance purposes.

Day to Day Duties

• Operate and drive various Class 2 Vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to deliver to multiple stores across the country.
• All vehicles have tail-lifts, but you will be required to lift heavy boxes and move cages, so any applicants must be willing and able to do this.
• The Vehicles have sleeper cabs as nights out could be required on a sporadic basis.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as needed
• Ensure vehicles are well presented at all times

Essential Skills

• Hold a valid UK Category C licence for at least 2 years
• Hold a UK DIGI Card & CPC Card
• No more than six penalty points
• No major endorsement codes
• Must be aged 25 or over due to insurance purposes
• Excellent timekeeping
• Good communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills

Desirable Experience

Previous Class 2 store delivery experience would be beneficial as this role involves working on timed delivery slots.

Training

An initial paid assessment and induction will be provided on-site before you start driving.
