Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Burton-on-Trent

  • Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school environment.
  • Adapt teaching materials and activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of students with SEN.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans for students with SEN.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to facilitate the inclusion and progress of students with SEN.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, including those with SEN.

Qualifications or Certificates:

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning or equivalent.

Relevant certificates or training in supporting students with SEN.

Experience:

Proven experience working with students with SEN within a school environment or similar setting.

Familiarity with different types of SEN and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and other professionals involved in the care and education of students with SEN.

Brief Overview of the Role:

Age Group: Primary to P16 age range (typically 4 to 16 years old).

Length of Bookings: Varied, ranging from short-term assignments to long-term placements, depending on the needs of individual students and the school.
