We are looking for a CI Manager to join our team.

This is a combined role encompassing continuous improvement with planning, data analytics, and developing commercially compelling and innovative solutions and proposals that are aligned to the client’s and Wincanton’s future strategy.

How will you contribute?

  • Develop and deliver a Continuous Improvement strategy for the site and the wider KBT network in order to provide broader business benefit and a centralised focus
  • Adopt a prioritised approach to identify opportunities to deliver improvement to health and safety, quality, cost and service
  • Provide management, expertise, collation and guidance on all Continuous Improvement projects and activities
  • To manage the Continuous Improvement projects for all designated operations in order to provide broader business benefit and a centralised focus
  • Assist with Continuous Improvement proposals, coordinate and monitor progress. Utilise Value Stream Mapping and coordinate with Operations/Contracts Managers to establish process improvements
  • Capture and co-ordinate all current Continuous Improvement projects and establish a reporting method for these projects Provide management, expertise, collation and guidance on all Continuous Improvement projects and activities.
  • Liaise with the site General Manager and Senior Management team to identify and achieve pre-determined target savings for the site through Value Stream Mapping and other activities
  • End to end project leadership, key point of contact for colleagues and Stakeholders, the ‘total’ solution expert;
  • Support Stakeholder meetings and prospecting;
  • Apply business acumen to filter unsuitable solutions and qualify best opportunities from the pipeline;
  • Define project approach, developing tailored proposals that speak to the stakeholder’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Feedback and benchmark of commercial offering;
  • Ambassador for Wincanton to develop external awareness and positive perception of Wincanton’s capabilities and achievements;

What will you bring?

  • Will have experience of working at a similar level and have knowledge of LEAN and process improvement tools and techniques (e.g Six Sigma)
  • Presentation skills
  • MS proficient (ie Excel, PPT, Word, Minitab) and the ability to extensively analyse and validate data using a range of tools including spreadsheets
  • Proven practical application and development of Quality / Lean tools
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of managing change in a challenging environment
  • You will be process orientated, with a track record of implementing process improvements and controls within a supply chain environment
  • You will have experience of working closely with clients and developing effective working relationships
  • You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, in order to optimise site performance
  • You must be flexible in terms of travelling to other sites in the network where required
  • Highly analytical individual with a sound knowledge of the principles of warehouse operations and planning functions.
  • Good understanding of the financial impact of effective warehouse planning
  • Experience of computerised routing and scheduling systems
  • Highly motivated to deliver the customer proposition, whilst maintaining team morale
  • Good working knowledge and experience of warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Commercial acumen - knowledge of the implications of operational processes and practice on the commercial viability of a contract
