Are you an ambitious Production Engineer, looking to transform a department and drive continuous improvement?

 

The Opportunity:

Ford & Stanley Recruitment are working with a renowned manufacturer serving the Rail, and Industrial industries, providing a safety critical relay product.

Due to high demand, they are recruiting a team focusing upon doubling manufacturing capability of the Barton Under Needwood facility, from an output of 230, to the goal of almost 500 relays per week. The Operations support engineer will be working with this goal in mind, looking at:

  • Improving manufacturing process & reduce non-conformance.
  • Work on NPI improvements
  • Calibration / work instruction activities.

There are key projects lined up from day one for the successful candidate aimed at analysing FMEA and creating an end of line inspection criteria.

The successful candidate will be someone who thrives on implementing continuous improvement, with the opportunity to educate a manufacturing team, and transform their quality of output, confident enough to challenge non-conformance.

Location:

Burton on Trent, Staffordshire.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Working heavily within manufacturing process for a new end of line process project.
  • Dealing with non-compliance process
  • Dealing with calibrations, work instructions, technical instructions

Essentials:

  • Engineering experience. Either HNC/HND qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. Specifically working with assembled products
  • Experience working in a high-volume and varied production line, ideally working with bespoke products.

Desirable:

  • Degree Level Electronic/Electronic Engineering and/or Software Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in a safety critical environment.
  • Experience of Railway Standards (EN50155, EN50121, EN50126/8/9).
