Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Burton-on-Trent

  • We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a  team at an Ofsted rated Good school. The ideal candidate should have:
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 2 to 18.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Adaptability and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing situations.

 

Qualifications or Certificates:

  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.
  • Additional certifications in SEN support, safeguarding, or behaviour management are highly desirable.

 

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children and young people with SEN across a wide age range (2 to 18 years) is preferred.
  • Experience implementing individualised support plans and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working within a school environment and supporting classroom activities is beneficial.

As a Teaching Assistant in the school, you will provide essential support to students aged 2 to 18 with a variety of SEN needs. This role involves working closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities, promoting independence and inclusion within the classroom.
