CAD Technician
  • Location: Mildenhall, (Hybrid working available)
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a skilled CAD Technician to support our Design team by producing detailed technical drawings for both the sales process and production teams. This role is integral to the assembly and building process of our products and requires a candidate who is proficient in AutoCAD and has a basic understanding of SolidWorks.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Produce detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD for customer approval and production purposes.
  • Manipulate and develop basic product designs using SolidWorks.
  • Maintain and update the drawing management system with standard drawings.
  • Amend and update drawings as required, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create designs from customer briefs.
  • Assist with complex drawings and configurations under the guidance of the CAD Designers and Design Supervisor.
  • Support the Business Development Manager and sales team by designing cost-effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new products, mould designs, and modifications.
  • Liaise with production to provide correct technical drawings and necessary information.
  • Foster good relationships with all stakeholders to support drawing and design development and product quality.
  • Recommend and implement innovative ways of working to increase productivity and expand the drawing range.
  • Occasionally support the Sales team with order processing during unplanned leave.
  • Provide KPI data as required by the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for producing technical drawings.
  • Experience with SolidWorks is desirable.
  • A Design/Engineering based qualification.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Proactive continuous improvement mindset with the ability to coach and support colleagues.
