Time Appointments are delighted to be working on behalf of a fantastic construction company based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds who due to expansion are looking for a skilled Estimator to join their team. This client provides services to a range of industries across East Anglia and is one of the best in their field. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and develop your skillset!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Directors / Surveyors to take off and prepare accurate bills of quantities including all relevant supporting dimensions in a clear format understandable by the Contracts team.
  • Price bills of quantities using an electronic estimating system with agreed rates and output.
  • Prepare tender submission letters in accordance with Company operating procedures.
  • Highlight any abnormalities between the drawings and specification indicating whether they may work in the Company’s favour increasing the profitability of the contract.
  • Liaise with the Clients estimating team requesting information in a timely manner thus preventing return date problems.
  • Following the tender review meeting and checking of rates submit tender to the Client.
  • Provide information to the Buying department with regards the specification and quantities required within the tender.
  • Work closely with Construction Managers and Quantity Surveyors to prepare accurate information in relation to variations and claims.
  • Review pre-contract tender documentation with estimating team to ensure that the price build up is in accordance with construction methods and current minimum margin requirements.
  • Review final contract documents to ensure they are in accordance with price and identify any errors or omissions or risks.
