About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at our clients Magor location. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to support our high-speed packaging line, production, and utilities areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the efficiency, quality, and safety of the plant operations.Key Experience and Qualifications:Essential:
  • Recognised apprenticeship, NVQ3, or equivalent mechanical/industrial qualification
  • ONC or equivalent
  • Experience in a multi-disciplined industrial engineering function
Desirable:
  • Experience working within an FMCG environment
  • HNC or equivalent
Main Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Technician, your responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Developing safety and maintenance procedures
  • Liaising with suppliers for spare parts/services
  • Supporting the development of a high-performance culture
  • Recording maintenance activities in the management system
  • Analysing machines to improve performance
  • Carrying out quality inspections
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
  • Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs
  • Writing, reviewing, and updating maintenance SOPs
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Proactive and self-managed with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Food Safety protocols
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with external contractors
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
