132kv/33kv Commissioning Engineer - UKPN EPN Patch (Eastern England) - Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Contract + Guaranteed Extensions - Outside IR35 - ASAP Start Date

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed commissioning activities for 132kV, 33kV, and 11kV systems including primary transformers, grid transformers, switchgear, relays, AVCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of all equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning process, working closely with engineering teams and contractors.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to project timelines.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commissioning HV/MV systems (132kV/33kV/11kV) within the UKPN patch or other DNO patches.
  • Strong proficiency in commissioning primary transformers, grid transformers, switchgear, relays, AVCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for high-voltage system commissioning.
  • Willingness to travel across the patch and work on-site as required.
