This company is a start-up biotech company with a focus on developing innovative cancer medicines by targeting macrophage biology. Their drug discovery approaches emanate from ground-breaking research in the laboratory. They were founded in 2020 and are the only company taking a precision medicine approach to targeting disease niche specific macrophages. Their vision is to build a leading company through developing their portfolio of first in class therapeutics and a target discovery and validation platform. They are committed to delivering a real impact on patient outcomes.

Laboratory support responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and ordering stocks of essential laboratory supplies and consumables (including undertaking regular stock checks).
  • Collecting, unpacking, and receiving parcels and delivery.
  • Organise national and international shipments of biological material
  • Local laboratory support services such as:
    • Delivery of Liquid Nitrogen
    • Glass washing
    • Waste collection (GM waste and lab sundries)
    • Laboratory coat laundry collection
    • Organising pipette clinics
    • Organising servicing of equipment
  • Housekeeping:
  • Ensuring laboratories are kept clean and tidy, including tissue culture and storeroom.
  • Collection and disposal of routine laboratory waste (chemicals, clinical waste, WEEE etc) by agreed routes.
  • Monitoring and record keeping of laboratory stocks using an electronic LIMS system.
  • Safety:
  • Assist the Operations manager with the preparation and supervision of engineer/service visits.
  • Assist the Operations manager with the preparation for Health & Safety inspections, and implementing actions associated with these where appropriate.
  • Laboratory support:
  • Buffer preparation
  • ELISA
  • Sample management and aliquoting as required.
  • Mammalian cell culture

Any other ad hoc duties relevant to the position that may be required.
