Surface Dressing Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to lead surface dressing operations across the UK road network. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations, conduct Toolbox Talks, safety briefings, and audits. Monitor PPE usage and ensure safety for the team and the public.
- Support the full surface dressing process including planning, site surveys, design, risk assessments, scheduling, and project execution.
- Lead a team on-site, assigning tasks, providing support, and promoting company values and staff morale. Apply HR processes where needed.
- Ensure correct application techniques, material use, and surface quality to maintain durability and standards.
- Coordinate machinery, materials, and equipment, and manage maintenance schedules.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders including clients, local authorities, engineers, and members of the public. Provide progress updates and address concerns.
- Ensure all works comply with surface dressing standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Understand commercial implications of operations. Monitor costs, analyse site data, and record measurements and valuations.
Person Specification
- Strong knowledge of surface dressing or specialist treatments.
- Experience supervising highway maintenance or related civil engineering projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project).
- Able to work in a digital environment with phones, tablets, laptops, and AI cameras.
- Available and contactable outside normal hours when required.
- Willingness to travel and stay away across the UK, including during emergencies.
- Flexibility to work varied hours.
- Commitment to attending team inductions, training, and briefings.
- Positive attitude with willingness to undertake any reasonable management task.
