This role offers a diverse daily experience, where you will support students across various subjects to boost their confidence, independence, employability, and self-reliance. Activities may include:
  • Working in the college garden
  • Handling small animals
  • Engaging in art, drama, music, and woodworking
  • Supporting cooking lessons
  • Assisting with Maths and English
Ideal candidates may have experience in special education, primary education, or social care.Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Implement reasonable adjustments to aid student engagement.
  • Mentor students and encourage them to stay on task.
  • Demonstrate skills to help students understand tasks.
  • Assist with personal care and health needs.
  • Promote college values and a positive learning environment.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualifications: GCSE English grade C / 4 or equivalent.
  • Training: Willing to undergo relevant training.
  • Flexibility: Enjoys working across various college faculties.
  • Experience: Recent and demonstrable experience with special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Attributes: Positive ‘can do’ attitude, sensitivity to others' needs, patience, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work independently.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
