Senior Finance Manager

Cambridge (remote)

£70,000-£75,000 per annum

We are currently working with a leading technology company who are seeking a Finance Manager with a strong background in Group Financial Reporting and Control to join their finance team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical accounting skills, with experience in UK GAAP and IFRS, and will be committed to ensuring high-quality reporting, strong financial control, and delivering trusted results. This role offers the flexibility of remote work with the expectation of commuting to the Cambridge office at least twice a month.

Day-to-day duties:
  • Full responsibility for the monthly group consolidation and management reporting pack, including intercompany reconciliation within month-end close deadlines.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of consolidation pack and subsidiary reporting summaries for accuracy and alignment with group reporting policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements for UK companies.
  • Manage annual intercompany netting and loan interest calculations.
  • Handle group reporting and adjustments, liaising with external accountants for accurate journal bookings.
  • Update the annual group IFRS16 schedule and related journals.
  • Maintain and update a 13-week rolling cash forecast, tracking cash balances and ensuring sufficient reserves.
  • Liaise with external auditors, attend meetings, and respond to queries.
  • Oversee UK quarterly VAT reviews and submissions.
  • Collaborate with the commercial finance team on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare UK tax packs and respond to external tax team queries.
  • Integrate new entities into the group and support financial process improvements.
  • Draft and maintain group technical accounting policies and monitor internal financial controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Group consolidation experience under IFRS for multiple entities.
  • Proficiency in UK GAAP-FRS101 reporting.
  • Minimum of 4 years post-qualified accountant experience.
  • Experience liaising with auditors and producing statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101.
  • Knowledge of UK corporation tax and VAT calculation and filing.
  • Desirable experience in using SAP ByD, SAP Concur, and Vena.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Organised, methodical, and able to thrive in a dynamic team environment.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
