My client is a thriving and ambitious Top 50 UK law firm, based across East Anglia and the South East of England.

Forming part of the wider IT team, the role will work seamlessly with Infrastructure IT colleagues. The role will be a split of 60:40 (office/home) and will offer a fantastic, friendly culture with a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role can be based from Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich or Chelmsford.

The department

The role is part of the infrastructure team which installs and maintains both On Premises & Cloud infrastructure hardware, software & services as part of the larger IT team.

The IT Team is responsible for all aspects of IT across the business, covering User Support, Infrastructure, Network, Security, Data and Development Teams.

Purpose of job

This role is to deliver a modern workplace, ensuring the end user experience when using technology is seamless, simple, and integrated.

It is expected that the candidate will have the capabilities and proactive approach to drive continuous process efficiencies, delivery method improvements and management techniques to deliver smoothly across the laptop / mobile estate at both a hardware and software level. Naturally, this will cover optimisation and performance monitoring alongside frequent analysis of user feedback and requirements to enable an aligned approach.

A requirement to maintain a close working relationship with other team members to ensure consistency, support, knowledge is imperative.

Accountabilities

Main accountabilities include but not limited to:

  • Improving the user's digital experience
  • Device management
  • Software and OS (Operating Systems) deployment and management
  • Configuration and user settings management
  • Investigate potential and actual service problems and recommend & test proposed solutions
  • Software version control
  • Monitor 3rd line tickets logged in our IT Service Management System and prioritise these in relation to the set SLA agreement in place with the customer, the risk and approximate amount of time required for the ticket.
  • Liaise directly with users and key stakeholders (internal and external) to understand and resolve issues
  • Managing 3rd party relationships used to deploy and maintain services
  • Delivering of system status via mature reporting processes
  • Work on roll-out and delivery of IT projects / Service Requests
  • Assisting in all departmental responsibilities as and when required
  • Travel as required across all Birketts offices.
Skills

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in technical role, preferably in a modern workplace environment
  • Working in an Enterprise IT environment
  • Configuring and maintaining SCCM/MECM
  • Intune / Autopilot
  • Working with stakeholders to provide support and continuous improvements
  • Group Policy
  • OS and Application configuration packaging and deployment
  • Experience of an O365 environment
  • Supplying support to users
  • Leading deployment projects

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience of optimising user workplace experience
  • Azure Enterprise apps and SSO
  • End user engagement / satisfaction surveys.
