Software Project Manager (Embedded) - Cambridgeshire

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join an organsiation at the forefront of development, design and innovation.

You will have the chance to lead and run development Projects, involving software content - so naturally you will bring a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. It would also be highly beneficial if you've had experience or a background in medical devices/medical software life cycle processes!

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the main point of client liaison during project delivery
  • Manage project risks and escalate if appropriate
  • Report project progress to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Often be the technical lead on a project
  • Plan and cost new projects and author project proposals, taking input from relevant colleagues, clients and suppliers including subject matter experts and the sales team
  • Facilitate project progress meetings with the project team
  • Lead communications with suppliers and clients
  • Contribute to sales activities, marketing materials and the Quality ManagementSystem as required
What skills and knowledge can I bring?
  • Experience managing the development of firmware for embedded products and systems (user interfaces, sensors, wireless comms etc)
  • Demonstrate examples of planning and estimating software development work and capturing product requirements
  • Ability to apply scientific/engineering principles when problem solving
  • Test-driven development, agile, continuous integration and unit testing experiece and how to incorporate software development best practice
Educational background
  • Degree inPhysics, computer science, software or electronic engineering
