Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Site Based)

Our client, a rapidly expanding Tier 2 main contractor, is embarking on an exciting venture in North Cambridge. With a focus on excellence and innovation, they are committed to delivering exceptional construction projects that surpass client expectations. Currently, they are seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in the delivery of a prestigious £40 million new build office project.

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral part of the project team, working closely with senior QS professionals to support the successful delivery of the project. This site-based role offers an excellent opportunity for career development and progression within a dynamic and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing project finances, including cost control, budget monitoring, and cash flow forecasting. Collaborate with senior QS to procure subcontractor packages and negotiate contracts. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify variations, and manage changes. Prepare and submit valuations, interim payment applications, and final accounts in accordance with contract requirements. Support the resolution of commercial disputes and claims, ensuring contractual compliance and mitigating risks. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and correspondence related to the project.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing or holding a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Some experience in a QS role within the construction industry, preferably within a site-based environment. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and standard industry practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Driven and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow within the company. Benefits:
