We have a fantastic opportunity to work with aleading main contractor specialising in construction projects across various sectors including educational, commercial, healthcare, industrial, and refurbishment. We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Cambridge, UK.

Role Overview: As an Experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of construction projects. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to maximize value and minimize costs throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage payments.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and financial reporting to track project progress.
  • Manage variations and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide commercial support to project teams, including value engineering and risk management.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.

Requirements:

  • RICS or CIOB qualified with proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of educational, commercial, healthcare, industrial, and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience working for a main contractor and familiarity with various procurement frameworks regionally.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard quantity surveying software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
