Senior Transport Planner

Our client is looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join their team. They have a multitude of projects at various stages in their project lifecycle, from appraisal through to construction, and in several different sectors. These include residential, commercial, and retirement & care.

Their clients range from local smaller scale businesses to local government, respected regional contractors, national housebuilders, and commercial developers. They are also heavily involved in a large development in Hampshire, where they are responsible for providing civil engineering support for planning applications and the development of the on and off-site infrastructure designs.

The role:

  • Write, check and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes
  • Good understanding or modelling packages and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions

- Prepare appeal documentation including Statement of Case and Statement of Common Ground

- Assist with training junior members of staff

- Ability to complete / review / approve planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs etc.

- Attendance at Public Consultation events, project team/client meetings, appeal meetings & Local Highway Authority meetings

- Good understanding of modelling packages, and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions

- Prepare, check and issue fee proposals and tenders

About you:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

- Membership of professional organisation

- At least 5 years transport planning experience

- Knowledge and application of national design guidance

- Experience of working with computer-based systems including Microsoft programmes

- Manage your own workload and delegate tasks
