The Opportunity: Finance Accountant

Contract: 12 Months FTC

Location: Cannock

The Impact you will have:

  • Maintenance of fixed asset register, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly with the necessary authorisations. Including the calculation of the monthly depreciation charge to the profit and loss account.
  • Updating book values of assets, within the system.
  • Standard cost updates of ancillary items, using Excel based spreadsheets.
  • Recoding of errors produced by the system.
  • Cost of sale and parts variance, recode variance of standard cost compared to the purchase order.
  • Responsible for the processing and reconciliation of allocated general ledger accounts including accruals and prepayments.
  • Assisting with the quarterly England and Wales balance sheet reviews.
  • Assisting with Audit requests for quarterly and yearly external audits.
  • Other ad-hoc finance duties and provide additional support to the Finance team, as and when required.

What will help you to excel in this role:

  • Significant experience working in finance department(s)
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel – examples; VLOOKUP, SUMIF, PIVOT TABLES
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt to new IT tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills
